They're ready! My 2015 Fine Photography Calendars!

After missing last year due to my father's death, I am back!  Thank you to all my loyal customers for your kind words and your patience and willingness to come back this year!  As I always hope, I have learned so much this year and I think you will feel that my photographs are the best yet.  Please drop me a note to let me know what you think!  Of course, your calendar will not have my logo spread all over the photograph.  That is only for when I post in public areas like this to prevent theft of my creations.  There are two styles of calendars:  a 5 by 7", one page per month, desk size and a 11.7 by 16.5", one page wall calendar. Both are shown here on the blog.   Here's where to see them without my logo all over the photograph  and to purchase the calendars:

First Beautiful Flower of 2013!

Greetings from sunny Florida....errrr...well, not today!  Pretty chilly here at my parents home in St. Augustine, FL.  This is a very different trip for me as I am here to help my Mom and Dad.  Dad has been diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer and I am helping them with around the house and with transportation as he gets started with his treatment.  You can read more about that at a new blog that deals with this topic at Reflections in the Aluminum.

So...on to a better topic!  Flowers!  It has been a cold spring in northern Florida as it has in many places.  So the flowers and plants are just starting to become abundant.  I snuck out before fixing my parent's some breakfast to take a few photographs of the flowers in my Mom's yard.  We had rain overnight and there was a good many water droplets.  I love to photograph dew and water drops on plants!

Do you like?  I hope so!  Let me hear from you!

Thanks for visiting!

Looking for Something To Do This Weekend?!

Hi Friends!  Looking for something to do this weekend?  Why not come out to Frederick and check out to Shereen's Exquisite Fine Art Gallery at 216 N. Market St. in Frederick, MD?  It just happens that I have three photographs exhibited in her gallery!  Plus you could check out what is happening in downtown Frederick.  There is always something cool going on.  There are plenty of locally owned art galleries, shops and restaurants to check out!  Why not make a day of it!  Hope to see you!  Happy Friday!

Reflections and Looking Forward!

Hi Friends!  I originally wrote the post quoted below in December.  I didn't post it at the time because I wanted to review it.  Well...here we are in the middle of March - better late than never!

"Here we are at the end of 2012!  This year flew by for me.  It was a year of growth for me in my personal life and my photography.  I had my first successes at being published and being accepted into juried shows.  That is very encouraging for me!  I read a lot of interesting articles and blog posts about photography which lead me to stretch myself artistically.  I viewed a lot of other artists' work.  I shot things that I would normally not.  I was surprised at what actions lead to making a better photograph.  For me, the information that I am interested in and the things that I try have nothing to do with the technical side of photography.  I don't care what F-stop or focal length... was used to make a photograph.  I am all about the light.  The texture.  The color.  Capturing and sharing what I see.  That is what excites me.  I feel that my photography is better than ever.  Has this translated to you......do you feel you have seen better photographs from me this year?

So...what comes next for me?  How do I continue to improve?  That is what I am thinking about as 2013 rounds the corner!  I am taking stock, reflecting and planning as the year ends.  One thing I do know...I will continue to share my work with you.  Please take a moment and tell me what you think when I share...it really does help me and I appreciate it so much!

Thanks for being interested in what I am up to!  Hope you'll be with me in 2013!  Merry Christmas to you and your family!"

Jumping forward now...

A friend and former co-worker that I have known for many years called me last week to ask if I would be interested in photographing his wife who has just been elected to the Board of Trustees for her Alma Mater Yale University and needs a photograph for her bio page on the BOT website.  He thought of me because his wife's passion and career focus is on the environment and she wants to have her photographs taken outside.  This project fits right in with what I was thinking about when I wrote my never posted post above.  Last year, one of the things that I did to stretch myself was to take pictures of people.  People at events, festivals, on the beach and so on.  I enjoyed the spontaneous, candid shots that I did.  So,  I have put together a new gallery on my website entitled "People Project - Every Artist Must Stretch Themselves!"  So...take a look and see what you think!  I would love to hear your feedback!  By the way...my website is all new!  Tell me what you think!  Here's a teaser:

Merry Christmas! A Christmas Poinsettia for you!

Merry Christmas friends and family!  Hope you enjoy this photograph of a poinsettia that I took on my recent trip to see my parents in St. Augustine Beach, Florida.  I love the way the early morning dew lays like jewels on the leaf.  Feel free to share!

Angela
